A message from the Elementary Principals:

Parents and Guardians,

The elementary campuses are doing our best to maintain everyone's safety and health while providing remote instruction and communication to our families.  Beginning next week Tuesday, April 14, the PDF packets that were used when we first started remote at-home learning will be phased out and we will be transitioning to using Google Classroom resources to better facilitate new and interactive learning for all elementary grades. The majority of our teachers have already begun communicating with your students through this learning platform on a voluntary basis.  This will now become our new model of learning, as we will no longer be providing packets or distributing them from campuses. There will be step-by-step videos on how to access and use Google Classroom from your computer, phone, tablets and even gaming devices that will be shared from the district.

Teachers will be working with parents and students to give feedback on student progress and collect student work samples through a variety of online formats within Google Classroom.  Teachers will also have their lessons uploaded into their Google Classroom by the end of the day on the Friday before the next upcoming week. We realize that many parents need time to plan their week due to working from home or other situations.  We have had several questions on how to handle the work that our students have done up to this point. In discussions with our teachers and district leadership teams, the elementary grade level teachers will be working with students to submit answers from work packets.  This instructional “scavenger hunt” will be done in the next week or so and teachers will be collecting a grade on it. There will be no need to physically turn those in to the campuses.

Sealy ISD is doing our best to ensure that we are following recommended CDC guidelines, limiting social interaction  and maintaining the health and safety of all students, parents, and staff. We know that this is a shift from how we delivered instruction these past few weeks, but we feel that this model will be better for students to engage new content with our teachers.

PLEASE join classes in Google Classroom by logging in with your school Google login.  In the document container are the Teacher Google Classroom Codes and the Google student login configuration.

You can access Google Classroom using a computer, tablet or cellular device, XBox or PS4.  Google Classroom has an app that can be downloaded to tablets or phones to make access easy.

Thank you,

As you may know, SISD is far ahead of other districts in regard to our blended learning and approach to teaching and learning.  This means that we have already been using various online resources as valuable teaching tools on a day-to-day basis. This includes using Google Classroom and Google for Education tools and G-Suite programs (i.e. Docs, Spreadsheet, Presentation, and Forms).  Many of our teachers and students are familiar with these systems, which is why we will be using them as our new online learning system.

Grades 6-12 will be using Google Classroom to deliver educational content and materials.  You can access GC using a computer, tablet or cellular device.  GC has an app that can be downloaded to tablets or phones to make access easy.  To join your teacher's GC, view the available classroom codes listed in the document folder at the bottom on this page.

In our greatest attempt to be as transparent as possible with you all, please read through the above information and guidance regarding curriculum and instruction during the COVID-19 closure.

We understand our students, and parents might be missing the structure of the school day. So, in the short term, we will do our part to help you have productive days at home. You can count on us in the long term, as well, to provide the systems to keep our students learning at home for as long as they can’t assemble at school.

As Sealy ISD is closed in response to COVID-19, we are committed to continuing to support your students’ learning.  We encourage our families to stay strong, as we are all in this together. We truly appreciate your continued patience and support as we navigate through this uncharted territory and do our best to support our students.   We understand that the following might not be ideal for some parents/families. Together, we will work to find viable solutions if these methods of instruction will not work for you.

If you have any questions or concerns please email [email protected]. If emailing, please include your student's name and campus so that we can assist quickly and effectively. We will work together to help resolve any issues and promise to respond as soon as possible!  Important Reminder: Just do your best! Take plenty of time off to spend with your family and learn or explore new things! We are always so busy, now is a time we can slow down and enjoy, find passions or talents and spend time learning more about each other.
